Cristina Joy Valverde
Cristina holds interest in diverse perspectives & crafts, which has given her the adaptability to meet the challenges filmmaking requires. Before entering the digital world of film & media, Cristina has been a long-time wilderness leader, wholistic wellness practitioner, and community art events creator. In 2014, she began working in commercial & documentary film as a producer, coordinator, and cinematographer. Many of her most fulfilling projects have been those in collaboration with & support of Indigenous tribes. She seeks to create a bridge between the worlds of ecological wellness, cultural vitality, creative expression, and inspirational storytelling.
Cristina is currently working on the documentary “Beaver Taught Salmon to Jump”, which advocates for an ecologically cooperative perspective observant & appreciative of Indigenous knowledge and interspecies ecosystem intelligence, such as is currently being exemplified through watershed restoration work with beavers.
