Beaver Taught Salmon to Jump

A documentary film about wild kinship & the restoration of connection between people, waterways & beavers.

Beaver Taught Salmon to Jump will bring you into the wild world of beaver-based restoration to meet people as eccentric, inspiring, & genius as the ecosystems they live to protect. We follow the inspiring work of native practitioners, scientists, restorationists, policy-writers, and enthusiastic “beaver believers”. These are the voices of trailblazers, unsung heroes not so different from you or I, who are teaching us by their dedication and reverence to Nature that the answers are living all around us…

This film is in support of indigenous co-management of natural resources and efforts which apply new tech to LO-TEK practices for long-term ecological wellness. The project is in collaboration with several tribes from CA to WA.

A feature-length documentary produced by Cristina Valverde.

Currently in production, seeking funding (2022).
